Rural Health and COVID-19
COVID-19 Response Corps virtual immersion
Tuesday, June 27th from 9:00am – 12:30pm CST.
These workshops are free; please invite your colleagues.
This immersion will:
- Explore the impacts of COVID-19 response and recovery on the social determinants of health in rural communities
- Build skills in Digital Strategy 101 with Burness, including how to set goals, prioritize audiences, and select the proper digital channel
- Expand professional network to advance health equity by building relationships with colleagues from across the state
Featured speakers include:
- Jonathan Temte, MD, PhD, MS, is the associate dean for public health and community engagement at the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health. He also oversees the Office of Rural Health and will do statewide level setting around the impacts of COVID-19 and rural communities.
- Dan Howard is in marketing and community relations at Gundersen St. Joseph’s Hospital and Clinics in the region of Hillsboro, Elroy, and Wonewoc. He will share the work being done to improve the health of their community, particularly after COVID-19 exacerbated inequities.
