Jennifer Tranmer

Biography

Jennifer Tranmer is the Communications Specialist for the Substance Use Health Initiatives Unit at the Wisconsin Department of Health Services. Her primarily focus is the Overdose Data to Action in States (OD2A-S) grant through the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and providing communications support to the Behavioral Health Section. As part of this team, Jennifer supports the efforts at the Department of Health Services to prevent overdose death, support stigma reduction efforts, and reduce the harms associated with substance use disorders. She provides communications and programming support to her team as well as partners within and outside of DHS.

Jennifer has a master’s in public affairs journalism from Columbia College in Chicago and a bachelor’s degree from Beloit College. She lives with her husband and their dog in Cottage Grove. She enjoys hiking, traveling, writing, long walks, gardening, baking, and spending time with family.
