Michael Stevenson

Michael Stevenson is the Evidence and Policy Analysis Team Leader at County Health Rankings & Roadmaps (CHR&R).

Prior to joining CHR&R, Michael was the Director of Health Strategy at the City of Milwaukee Health Department where he led large scale planning efforts, advised on public health policy, and analyzed public health data. He has also worked as a Research Associate at a human services research and evaluation organization. Michael holds a master’s degree in public health from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee’s Zilber College of Public Health and a bachelor’s degree from Wartburg College.

The Evidence & Policy Analysis team’s work includes What Works for Health (WWFH), an online database that provides community leaders, coalitions, and others with promising strategies to respond effectively to their health priorities. Analysts review research to rate strategies’ effectiveness in improving health and advancing equity. Strategies include policies, programs, and systems and environmental changes.
