Salma Abadin completed her Masters in Public Health at Washington University in St. Louis and Bachelor of Arts in Classics at Macalester College in St. Paul, Minnesota. Prior to joining the UW Population Health Institute, Salma served as the Violence Prevention Research Coordinator for the City of Milwaukee Health Department’s Office of Violence Prevention. In this role, she led research and data analysis efforts for violence prevention using a public health approach. Salma was also a Wisconsin Population Health Service Fellow from 2015 to 2017 where she developed population health and systems change skills through placements at IMPACT Planning Council and the City of Milwaukee Health Department.

Salma is a committed public health advocate and professional with a global sense of community dedicated to data-driven, evidence-based policy and program change to advance health equity.
