Biography
Salma holds more than a decade of experience advancing equity-centered policy, systems change, and public health infrastructure at the local, state, and national levels. As Public Health Infrastructure Grant Project Director at the University of Wisconsin Population Health Institute, she leads statewide efforts to strengthen foundational public health capabilities, workforce development, and cross-sector partnerships. Throughout her career, Salma has worked closely with government agencies, community organizations, and academic partners to translate research and evidence into action, support strategic decision-making, and advance health equity. Her expertise spans public health systems strengthening, community engagement, research and evaluation, leadership development, and coalition building.
Salma holds a Master of Public Health in Epidemiology and Biostatistics from Washington University in St. Louis and a Bachelor of Arts from Macalester College.
