Wisconsin Discusses: Excel Foundations & Data Cleaning (Data Workshop Series – Session 2)
Join us for the second session of a three-part UWPHI/DHS Data Workshop Series highlighting how to more effectively collect, organize, and analyze data, as well as identify ways to incorporate findings into your work.
Build foundational Excel skills for public health data analysis while learning practical techniques to clean, organize, and prepare data for use in your local health department. Through hands-on activities, participants will work with Wisconsin health data and gain confidence using Excel to clean and analyze datasets. This session is great for those who are new to using datasets in Excel, those who want to help others gain comfort in Excel, or anyone looking for a refresher.
You can register and attend Session 2 even if you did not attend Session 1. Consider reviewing the Session 1 recording and presentation materials before Session 2.
Homework (Complete Before Session 2):
- Download one WISH dataset (CSV) for your chosen health priority.
- Identify two indicators for your topic using the CHA/CHIP Indicator List.
- Bring a laptop with Microsoft Excel installed to Session 2 — we’ll be working hands-on with your data.
