Wisconsin Discusses: Visualization and Data to Action (Data Workshop Series – Session 3)

This training focuses on transforming data into clear, actionable stories that support decision-making and effective communication. It is the final part of a three-part series highlighting how to more effectively collect, organize, and analyze data, as well as identify ways to incorporate findings into your work. Consider reviewing the recording and presentation materials from Session 1 and Session 2.

Session Overview

  • The Great Lakes Inter-Tribal Epidemiology Center (GLITEC) explores the importance of data sovereignty and considerations for how data are collected, owned, interpreted, and shared in ways that honor communities.
  • Participants will learn how to select the most appropriate chart type for different data sets and audiences, create compelling headlines that communicate key points, and apply accessibility and branding best practices.
  • We will walk through steps to develop a data story by connecting data insights to community health priorities, strategies, and outcomes, and outline dissemination planning techniques that maximize the reach and impact of evaluation findings.
