Marcia is the Community Health Worker Network Coordinator with the Mobilizing Action Toward Community Health (MATCH) Group of the Population Health Institute. This role is a partnership with the Department of Human Services and focuses on collaborating with communities and stakeholders to develop a network of community health workers (CHWs), policy and providing capacity building opportunities for community health workers in the state of Wisconsin.
Prior to joining the Population Health Institute, Marcia worked for the Dane County Healthy Kids Collaborative at UW Health, where she focused on childhood obesity prevention and promoting active transportation in partnership with the schools in Dane County. Marcia is a former community health worker for Planned Parenthood and has experience working in violence prevention, global health, and community health education.
Marcia is passionate about working with communities and using a health equity and social justice framework to improve the health and outcomes of communities that are affected by health inequities in Wisconsin. Marcia completed her Masters in Public Health in Community Health Education at the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse and Bachelors of Arts in Sociology and French at Edgewood College.
