Cecie Culp is a Substance Abuse Prevention Specialist with the UW Population Health Institute. She is currently working on Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration-funded grants with the Wisconsin Department of Health Services. These grants focus on reducing the abuse and misuse of prescription drugs and alcohol in the state of Wisconsin.

Prior to joining the UW Population Health Institute, Cecie was an associate research specialist with the National Initiatives team at the Center for Patient Partnerships, conducting qualitative research on patient experiences and narratives, with the goal of improving healthcare through more effective and meaningful interactions between patients and their providers.

Cecie earned her BA in neuroscience at Skidmore College and went on to conduct research in a cellular and molecular biology lab at the University of Colorado – Anschutz Medical Campus in Denver, CO. In 2014 she moved to Madison for graduate school at the LaFollette School of Public Affairs, earning her MPA in 2016. In her free time, she enjoys hiking, horseback riding, live music, and spending time with her cat and dog (and friends).
