Jessi Corcoran is the Narrative and Resource Development Coordinator at the Population Health Institute, a collaborative position with the Department of Health Services. She has a B.A. in English and Gender Studies from Indiana University and a Master of Public Health from Boston University. Her studies focused primarily on sexual violence prevention and response, sexual health promotion, and the intersections of health and oppression. Jessi brings hands-on experience developing health communications and data visualization resources at Boston University and UW-Platteville. More recently, at the Wisconsin Coalition Against Sexual Assault, she gained hands-on experience centering women of color in sexual violence work, leading aspiring allyship trainings and initiatives, and guiding the anti-violence movement in Wisconsin to center racial oppression in response and prevention work. Other areas of experience include: needs assessments, multi-disciplinary teams, organizational development, and social media/public communications. Jessi’s professional ambition is to integrate a social justice lens into public health work.
