In order to support the COVID-19 response and recovery, UW PHI COVID-19 Response Corps hosts virtual training sessions. These virtual trainings, known as Immersions, are a deeper dive into relevant topics for the public health workforce. Immersions cover a variety of topics, all with a connection to COVID-19, and feature speakers from a national, state, or community level doing important work.

In this immersion, participants discussed communicating the nuances of science, common communication challenges, and learned how to develop public health and equity messages with transformative narratives.

In this immersion, participants learned how the COVID-19 pandemic impacted the mental health of the public health workforce, understood how the work of statewide organizations is building capacity for future public health resilience, and developed mindfulness skills.
