The Wisconsin Department of Health Services (DHS) has contracted with the UW Population Health Institute to implement the Response Corps program.
UW Population Health Institute (PHI) works with a wide range of community partners, advocates, and health practitioners to identify and promote changes to policies and systems to ensure everyone in Wisconsin can reach their full health potential. Within PHI, the Mobilizing Action Toward Community Health (MATCH) group develops and deploys programs and resources and engages in collaborative partnerships that support strategic community-driven efforts. The goal of these efforts is to ensure that all people have a fair chance to be healthy in their homes, schools, workplaces, and neighborhoods. MATCH aims to change practice, focus priorities, and shift power to support shared action on root causes of health and equity. One of the key ways in which MATCH does this is through its flagship training program, the Wisconsin Population Health Service Fellowship, designed to build public health capacity on critical practices – including health equity, systems, and collaborative leadership lenses – through service provided by fellows to governmental and community-based public health organizations.
