Joe Kalscheur

Renee KramerJoe Kalscheur is a graduate student employee with the UW Population Health Institute, where he works on several evaluation projects for the Wisconsin Obesity Prevention Initiative. He is currently pursuing a dual degree Master’s program in Public Health and Physician Assistant Studies from the University of Wisconsin-Madison School of Medicine and Public Health. Joe earned his B.S. from the University of Wisconsin-Stout with a major in Applied Science, a concentration in Interdisciplinary Sciences, and minors in Human Physiology and Biomedical Instrumentation. Prior to starting his schooling at UW-Madison, Joe served as an AmeriCorps Farm to School member of Dunn County as the Community Outreach Coordinator. Joe also enjoyed serving his community as an Emergency Medical Technician and Personal Trainer.

Joe’s current interests include obesity and diabetes prevention, community and family-based intervention strategies, healthy food systems, clinical-community partnerships, health promotion, education programing, and built environments for physical activity.
