Wajiha Akhtar, PhD, MPH
Associate Researcher

Wajiha is an Associate Researcher at the Population Health Institute where she serves as an Epidemiologist and Evaluator for Injury and Violence Prevention at the Wisconsin Department of Health Services. She received her MPH and PhD in Epidemiology at the University of Florida and received her BS in Biomedical Engineering from the University of Miami.

Prior to joining the Institute, Wajiha worked at the District of Columbia Department of Health, where she assessed service utilization of HIV/AIDs care. Prior to that, her research focused on aging, disability, and modifiable exposures associated with people living with HIV. In her spare time, Wajiha enjoys handlettering, watching college football, and learning how to garden.
