The first annual release of the Wisconsin Health Trends Report, a publication from the Making Wisconsin the Healthiest State Project is now available. The report highlights 20 leading health indicators and puts a spotlight on their trends over the past 10 years as well as compares the most recent year of data to that trend.
With reductions in death rates in all age groups, Wisconsin is making progress toward the goal of living longer. However, data suggest that quality of life may be declining. Increasing rates of obesity and worsening social and economic factors could lead to poor health outcomes and more disparities in the future. Assessing these 20 health indicators for both overall trend and most recent year of data provides an interesting picture of the state of health in Wisconsin.
