Jennifer Russ holds a Master’s degree in Public Affairs from University of Wisconsin’s La Follette School
of Public Affairs, where she focused on health policy and social policy. She is particularly interested in behavioral
health and issues related to poverty. Jennifer earned her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Washington
University in St. Louis. Prior to graduate school, she worked as an Applied Behavior Analysis teacher, using the
principles of behavior, learning, and motivation to teach young autistic children. She currently works as an Evidence
Analyst at the Population Health Institute on the What
Works for Health Database, a research and translation effort that was initially developed with funding from the
Wisconsin Partnership Program at the University of Wisconsin. This database aims to provide community leaders,
coalitions, and others with promising strategies to respond effectively to their health priorities. The database
summarizes research from reviews, journal articles, reports, and non-partisan experts, rating the effectiveness of
policies and programs that affect health behaviors, social & economic factors, the physical environment, and
clinical care.
