Anne Roubal is a second-year graduate student in the Population Health Sciences M.S. program. She graduated from DePaul
University with a bachelor’s degree in biology and a minor in mathematics in 2010. Her interest in public health
began during a medical brigade to Honduras in 2008. It was further confirmed during a summer internship working with
the Multi-Ethnic Study of Atherosclerosis and Air Pollution, or “MESA Air” research group at the University
of Washington. Anne currently works as a project assistant in the Population Health Institute on the County Health
Rankings. Her main research interests are in childhood nutrition and activity. In the future, she plans to pursue a
Ph.D. in epidemiology or exercise science and hopes to work to positively influence global health policies.
