Alison is an Associate Researcher at the University of Wisconsin Population Health Institute. She works on both
population health assessment and program evaluation projects.
Alison is currently working on the "Making Wisconsin the Healthiest State" project, a research and translation effort funded by the Wisconsin Partnership Fund for a Healthy Future. This project aims to identify the most effective investments to help Wisconsin become the nation's healthiest state and to monitor Wisconsin's progress toward achieving this goal with less health disparity. Alison is also an evaluator for Wisconsin’s CDC Program Integration Demonstration Project, one of four CDC pilots working to increase strategic alignment of program areas within state-level Chronic Disease Prevention and Control Programs.
In previous PHI roles, Alison has served as lead staff for the privacy and consumer-focused efforts of Wisconsin’s eHealth Care Quality and Patient Safety Board, partnered with the Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction (DPI) to design and implement an evaluation of its Project to Improve the Management of Drug and Violence Prevention Programs, and served as data manager/analyst for the Institute’s BadgerCare Plus evaluation. She also conducted an assessment of Wisconsin’s progress towards ‘Transforming Wisconsin’s public health system,’ one of three overarching goals of the State Health Plan.
Alison came to PHI from the Wisconsin Department of Administration’s Division of Executive Finance and Budget, following four years in the non-profit sector as a development associate and grassroots organizer. She holds a Masters degree in Public Affairs from the La Follette School of Public Affairs.
